Annual pop culture event set to hold this month

    The Lagos Comic Con organised by Ayodele Elegba and Austine Osas of Spoof Animation is set to hold another edition on the 17th of September, 2016 at NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja.

    This year’s edition is themed, “Creative Skills as a Tool for Economic Diversification,” and it will feature panels, workshops, master classes and a central stage for exhibition and sales. Other features include competitions, movie screenings and space for co-working, networking and interactive installations.
    Speakers include Gregory Odutayo (Award winning film director & Managing Director of R2TV), Hugo Obi(Founder/CEO of Maliyo Games), Deji Arosho (BBC), Godwin Akpocha (UK Based Graphic Artist), and lots more.

    The yearly pop culture event started in 2012 and they have come a long way, forming partnerships with companies such as Disney/Pixar, UR4Africa Programme, Tite Boy Game Entertainment, Footworks, Violet Nirvana, TM-Cube Global and Nolly.com along the way.
    From 300 participants in 2012 to, the convention has grown in attendance to 3,000 in 2015. The bulk of these attendees is made up of youths between the ages of 18-23.

    Prof. Femi Osofisan or F.O ., is a Nigerian writer noted for his critique of societal problems and his use of African traditional performances and surrealism in some of his novels. A frequent theme that his novels explore is the conflict between good and evil. He is in fact a didactic writer whose works seek to correct his decadent society.                                                                      Career Born in the village of Erunwon,[1] Ogun State, Nigeria, Osofisan attended primary school at Ife and secondary school at Government College, Ibadan. He then attended the University of Ibadan, going on to do post-graduate studies at the Sorbonne, Paris. He subsequently held faculty positions at the University of Ibadan, where he retired as full professor in 2011.
